Nope. I'm not rich. I'm a single earner in a large household. I'd say I'm upper-middle class. All the upper-middle class is getting hit with AMT now and soon it will extend to the straight middle and lower middle. AMT is a trap and not many people will escape it in the future, unless they repeal it. I had heard they were going to do something about that. Did they ever?

Steve and Mindmeld, the AMT is the perfect example of a tax that was meant to go after the "rich," but ended up hitting the "middle class" instead.
