It was that way here, too. Prices plunged real fast--20 percent for most homes, leaving some short-term homeowners who wanted to sell almost flat-footed. Started coming back pretty fast after about 1995--almost a flood of buyers appeared.

IMO, immigration is helping to keep us out of recession -- thought you might find this one interesting.
