Would you have kept fighting against the British to gain independence no matter how long that took?..or against Hitler during WWII, no matter how long or how many lives were lost? You don't survive as a nation, when a vicious enemy has already declared war and attacked, if you don't have resilience, perseverance and backbone. You have to be more determined than your enemy or they win and you start growing a beard. Our military knows that, it's only the armchair generals at home who are clueless.
