I give your Copper $5-$8.00 projection about the same probability as Gold at $850 by Turkey day.

SawmpDogg, re-copper...

I like your thinking on Copper, to new highs if this year's lows aren't taken out. Given what we've recently heard of Chinese demand, higher highs would seem the logical course...And you are right about one thing...nobody is talking about significantly higher highs for copper..It's a debate as to whether a US recession and hence slower world economic activity coupled with further deleveraging and unwinding of the yen carry trade will bring down the metal to the twos...

Getting through the downtrending fan lines at $3.30 & $3.35 and the fifty day ema at $3.45 are the near term hurdles...I hope to have added to my positions in ML.to and QUA.to and bought FCX before or as those targets are seen.

Generally today feels like the end of the Discount Rally rally. Many a lower close than opening can be seen...though such was not the case universally, it certainly was for GOLD (GLD) - quite discouraging.. Five to ten dollars lower could quite easily be seen....
