My first introduction to religion was in the Presbyterian Church.......One of our tenets was that we were 'predestined'--

I will never forget understanding that Calvinistic doctrine when it was taught to me in a Presbyterian Sunday School. I walked out and said to myself, "This is nonsense!" As Robert Green Ingersoll put it,

A prattling babe in a crib is predestined to spend it's eternity writhing and roasting in hellfire!

God sits outside of time and space. If the universe were a book, God gets to jump to the last chapter and see how everything comes out. We have to go through it one page at at a time. How much He fiddles with the text is a BIG question.
