Hi MarioSI, I agree that there is a lot of OT stuff posted on these boards. But why not just skip over the posts you don't want to read? The subject is usually obvious from the first couple of lines, and you can quickly decide whether or not you want to read on (hell, sometimes it's enough to read the poster's name).

mario, to be fair, if the subjects that Jim Sinclair writes about on his gold thread are suitable for discussion and similar to other financial writers these days then these items should be acceptable here as well because the state of the economy affects our investment decisions. That said it is also true that people can seek these items out for themselves too.

SI dave and I had a few conversations over this stuff in the past and he stipulated that it was "partisan" politics he wants to keep down on the financial threads not political/financial items of import. For example if some neo-con comes over and says the NDP is bad or a certain political figure and visa versa this is really what he is talking about, not the state of the USD as influenced by financial or political events.

If I were the regular moderator I would never allow the personal attacks, like the ones I get from BCB and a couple others, to happen on the board. It's not necessary. People like BCB come here looking for a fight, not to contribute imo.
Sorry but I don't see my temporary moderating of this site as careless, everyone was civil and there were no complaints and very little anyomosity. I asked that off topic posts not be posted on trading hours and to the best of my knowledge this was adhered to in a most difficult time as the markets were crashing. But to those out to get me I guess I can never do right.
