"Putting your name on the dotted line and saying I am willing to go where you send me and die if that is necessary more fits the theme of heroic." I agree. Even so, one of the things that really irritates me in the media, especially, are the phrases "he sacrificed himself," or "he gave his life," for some cause. Bullhocky. Except in extremely rare instances, he didn't "give" his life, it was TAKEN from him. I'm sure there's a word describing such mischaracterizations, but I don't know what it is. <G>
