Interesting (to me). It's not really to 5 decimal places, but 6 rounded to 5 and even then based on 1/1600 fractions, such as .000625.

Is real LIBOR in UK Sterling? So US$ LIBOR has another overhead factor for currency conversion? What causes JPY LIBOR to be so low? Is it based on Japan rates?

Is there something "shady" about U.S. homeloan rates being tied to US$ LIBOR rather than a U.S.-based market rate such as 5-year or 10-year US Treasuries?

Or is that used because it brings in the biggest securitization potential?

I noted from
bba.org.uk

the jump in rate from Aug 14 to 15 for CAD.

4.70000 5.34167 (for s/n-o/n)
4.70000 5.19167 for 1w
4.71167 5.10000 for 2w

I didn't know there was a "subprime" problem in Canada.

Thanks.
