Gates is not the only receiver. Last year Vincent Jackson emerged as SD's go to guy. This year the 6'5" 235 lb receiver will light it up. You cannot blitz Rivers or LT will simply gain more APY (all purpose yards) receiving on screen plays. Merriman always has a "special guy" trying to block him, but that only makes Phillips more dangerous. Sproles will be the needed special teams guy SD fans have been waiting for. Weddle is a legitimate S. He will fill D. Edwards shoes. Lastly, Gates...no comment necessary. P.S. Watch out for 4 the Padres. Their pitching staff is lights out.
