Putting down peoples faith is a lot more common

Analogies need only be alike in the element being illustrated. That they are alike in other ways, such as frequency, is irrelevant and distracting.

[This is the flip side of the fallacy we were discussing the other day where folks were inferring the application of other elements (moral equivalence) to two groups where the comparison was on only one element. This is denying equivalence on one element because the pair are not equivalent in all elements.]

Gosh, I wish I had a dollar for every time I have ha to point that out.
