The best unifier is Edwards, not Obama. Though Obama is a truly great and honest man. UNfortunately race still matters in the middle and the GOP will use any dirty racist slimy ad or trick to scare whites about Obama's skin color. And they will do it in a way where they deny responsibility. Just like the truly evil smearvet campaign which not only smeared John Kerry's heroism, but every American war hero.

Edwards on the other hand is almost impossible to smear. He is everything the GOP is afraid of, a rich self-made southerner who is honest and sees through all their lies.

None of the major GOP candidates will unify at all, only try and divide. Guiliani is the most divisive which is why Rovians kind of like him, but he's also got faggy baggage in his closet, corruption, a very messy personal life and all kinds of powerful and convincing enemies in New York who know him very well.
