That could describe me - but I didn't do it. Notice the dramatic increase in the volume traded in the SPY over the last YEAR - from 10's of millions to 100's of millions - and up to 1/2 billion on some days. Probably does pull in the more inexperienced. More people are using the EFT's as their trading vehicle. I love trading the ETF's - haven't own any mutual funds in years and they make it so damn easy to trade in and out of the market - unlike the dot com days when I had over 50 stocks in my portfolio and it was hell when I had to dump those. ughhh! and those margin calls! Hell and lifetime worth of tax write-offs. Serves me right for not wanting to pay taxes on short term gains.
