"How many hospitals did Robert Ingersoll (one of the greatest Humanitarians who ever lived by your account) ever build?"

What a dumb question. I have no idea! I guess there are over 13 trillion 568 million and 37 ways to give in philanthropy. Building a hospital would qualify as one way I am sure (if it was done with proper intent). I wonder how many Churches and how many Christians have not built hospitals?! God, you are dumb!

""God's "merciful" murderous rages?"

You are a liar and you know it"
"

Well Phoneykins! What a perfect example of your inability to respond to my posts--coupled with your natural reliance on insults, lies, and non sequiturs!

I think you know very well that I was not accusing your God of being merciful. I think you understand that the quotation marks are clearly placed there to indicate sarcastic irony.

As to the murderous rages, I think you are only too familiar with the tribal myth accounts.

All the Pharoah's people being drowned in the Red Sea.

Butchering the Amalek people for so long as Moses is able to hold his hand in the air (with Aaron's help)--chuckle, chuckle!

Murdering every man, woman, and child of Og.

300 of Gideon's men murder 120,000 Midianites (Praise God!).

Everyone on Earth cruelly killed by the terror of drowning except for a drunkard (Noah) and 7 family members.

God orders the man trying to keep warm on the 7th to be stoned to death (What compassion and mercy!)

David counts the population in a census and an evil ball of insane fury murders 70,000 of the people as "justice"--chuckle, chuckle!

Some people look at the stone tablets and God punishes them by murdering 50,000 odd of the innocent.

Joshua (a great man of God) wipes out a number of tribes of God's creation (Libnah, Eglon, Hebron, etc.) in order to please God's sense of righteousness!

All the people of Sodom and Gomorrah (except that the incestuous ("upright") Lot can live as a Man of God!).

And the brutal and nasty rages of insanity go on and on. Of course, YOU find nothing mythic or self serving about these stupid tales of primitive supernaturalism! To you, Greg or e--they ring with HOLY TRUTH! You are quite the sick puppy, eh?

"You may know that Australian aborigines fear a curse called “pointing the bone.” A shaman shakes a bone at a person, and sings a song, and soon after, the person dies. This is a specific example of a phenomenon generally referred to as “hex death”—a person is cursed by an authority figure, and then dies. According to medical studies, the person generally dies of dehydration, implying they just give up. But the progression is very erratic, and shock symptoms may play a part, suggesting adrenal effects of fright and hopelessness."

"If Atheism does the same thing for the US that it did for communist Russia"

Don't be a moron! Communism was the ideology that inspired Russia. Atheism is value neutral excepting that it refers to believing that Gods do not exist. The fact that communist ideology bans religious belief speaks to communism not to atheism. Atheism does not have any opinion on the proletariat uprising, the means of production, the toiling workers, the overthrow of the bourgeoisie, nor the banning of freedom of religion and thought--nor anything else.

Having said that, there is obviously nothing to prevent an atheist from being as bad as a bad religious person except for (obviously) a more rational and humanistic view of life and (usually) a humble denial of his/her moral superiority. The fact that atheists are well under represented in the prison population is suggestive, but again...atheism in and of itself does not make anyone morally superior to someone with spiritual leanings.

You can pass off atheism as Communism to ninnies such as inhabit your social world. But don't try to pass it off here, you pretender!
