"...if you're also a Paul supporter..."

Well, no, but I'm very interested in what he has to say. I wish I'd known more about him for a longer time.

I do agree with you that he has next to no chance at all to get elected to the Top Job, or even the Republican nomination. But, I sure hope that some of his ideas rub off on the other candidates. He's a smart guy and a breath of fresh air.

Re: "...odd how Ron Paul supporters were incapable of clarifying....'

Perhaps I spoke too confusingly....

But, you know... I *did* make reference in my posts to America's FIRST WAR as a young nation --- the War against the Barbary Pirates --- during Jefferson's Presidency, which has many parallels to the conflict we are facing now against individuals like OBL and other 'non-state actors', and which Dr. Paul has and others have referred to....

A war in which America employed "letters of marque and reprisal" as a primary tool, the better to effectively fight against pirates and other individuals who would otherwise have been difficult in the extreme to combat.

(Kinda like 'privatizing', authorizing private individuals, other nations, etc., to kill and capture for your cause... in today's world that likely would give our nation's legal sanction to Blackwater, Dyncorp, and or other corporate private military companies to act against the non-state actors who oppose us....)

(Of course, Paul has put forward *many* suggested policies and tactics designed to strengthen and advantage our country in this, or other, conflicts. "Letters of marque and reprisal", would only be ONE policy, and probably a fairly small one, when compared to the many others... such as keeping our ECONOMY STRONG [economic strength is the main reason we prevailed in WW II, and we would not have won the Cold War without economic out-performance. It is one of the primary determinants of victory in our modern world's wars], not falling for the classic Hubris of Empires and over-extending our forces and shortening and weakening our 'time on top', etc.)
