What you get from FB-Dimm not going through the Northbridge is on-die FB-Dimm down to the latency of legacy Northbridge-DDR2 but *not* AMD's direct CPU-DDR2.

I think it could be better than that but I haven't seen the specs, have you? At least you acknowledge it will improve. Now, what about Nehalem with DDR2/3? Why wouldn't that be at least as good as Barcelona's?
