The Twin Cities have had a recent rash of dog attacks too. One killed a kid. One case a pack of 'em got into a house, killed the family dog and badly mauled the woman who lived there.

I've been charged by a pit bull and Kristel was bit by one. The dog charged our dog, Kristel let her loose, so the pit bull turned on Kristel. She turned her leg in across her body (pit bulls go for the torso) and she got bit in the flesh of her knee. The owners paid our medical expenses. Utah has strict liability for dog attacks - no free bite.

The breed is being seriously harmed. I'm all for breed restrictions to refresh the stock, because these terriers are becoming dangerous.
