You are a saint.
My grandmother used to spend half the year with us when I was a teen. It was horrible. She wasn't allowed to cook, but she did make tea-- until she somehow set fire to the kitchen curtains. You never felt totally safe.

Is this a permanent thing?
(I should probably take this to DAR. If you answer, why not do it there, unless you throw a recipe in.)

FOOD TALK:
For dinner tonight, I made this great cold chicken dish that always impresses people for some reason. On a bed of lettuce, I slice poached or baked chicken breasts in the middle, at one end I put a heap of sauteed mushrooms, at the other either asparagus or broccoli.(is a single broccoli a broccolo?) Garnish with a little grated parmesan and sliced hard boiled eggs, and dress with favorite Italian vinaigrette.
Also got some fresh bread at our new Sprouts store.

I have a similar problem with my 84 year old dad, only his problem is with spices. If we catch some nice fish he insists on cooking some of them himself, I learned from digestive experience that the correct answer to "would you like it blackened?" is "no thank you." I have a very strong stomach but even I could not endure the effects of his blackened fish fillets. Having been denied blackening he still cooks now and then and puts about 1/8 inch of various and sundry spices on everything, I think he might have lost his sense of taste.
