(If the public doesn't care enough to demand rational plans and getting-down-to-brass-tacks talk from the candidates... then maybe they will skate ALL THE WAY to election on nothing but feel-good pap and platitudes.) I'm afraid you may be right, people don't want to spend the mental energy to examine the candidates' positions in any depth... if a few nice sound bytes will do the job, then why bother saying something that could get them into trouble... it's all a hoax, a dog and pony show, and I've said this before...
