Dean was one powerful storm, I had to let it pass. I was 200 miles away from its center. The winds blew for 48 hours. I had winds for 20 kts to 35 kts during that time with one burst to 40 kts. This all occurred during the period when it inflated from cat 1 to cat 4. The other surprising thing is that it only rained on three short bursts during those two days. So the storm was entraining dry air as it built its massive size. I think that helped to weaken its further development. Mexico got clobbered. The reports from that coastal dock where cruise ships use to go, are staggering.

You are lucky you're are not having flash flooding.
