point is longer waiting times, driving greater distances is a hidden cost.

for example. i take my wife down to un of penn to top dr. based on several recommendations. what should be 45 min trip turns into 3 hours down and 3 hours back do to congestion, accidents on the roads, then a 2 1/2 problem from service at door with wheel chair, then going through several buildings to doctor office waiting another hour and half to see him. i did get a free meal ticket from staff because overall visit tie up was 2 1/2 with waiting , filling out forms , history , then exam xrays from last ten years, then evaluation.

Now a person is sick and you transport them in car, for six hours and through a hospital maze, doctor office. What condition do you think that person is in after a day like that. how about patients that have to do it daily if treatment is in the city and not available in your community.

I have been in and out of forty years with doctors and hospitals... there are many hidden costs to not having a facility available to you close by.
