Re: "9/11 is a direct result of non intervention.."

Nah! Exactly the OPPOSITE.

I'd say that the misbegotten STATE of the Middle East today, the Theocracy in Iran, the survival of the corrupt Autocrats in Saudi Arabia, the disaster in Iraq, the resurgence of Islamic fundamentalism, the Sunni Whabbists who attacked us on 9-11... is pretty CLEARLY CONNECTED to our INTERVENTIONS in that part of the world over the past 5 or so DECADES --- and the *brain-dead*, short-sighted, and ILL CONCEIVED 'babe-in-the-woods' nature of most of those counter productive interventions.

"Are you kidding? There's a mountain of evidence... lift up your eyes and look around you..."

EXACTLY!

And, the evidence supports the conclusion that our so-called 'Middle Eastern policies' over the years have SCREWED-UP American national interests *FAR MORE* then they have ever helped. :-(

I think pacification would more aptly describe our late 20th century policy in the Middle East.
