Arun, you are well aware that you are stretching a point to absurdity.

>Imagine a cartoon about how Buddhists are so violent. I imagine it would be ignored.>

Vietnamese, Cambodians, Sinhalese(Sri Lankan Buddhists) have shown capabilities for violence.

I'm sure it's possible to find some people who claim to be Buddhists who are violent. But it's not part of the fundamental ideology.

All ideologies are not equally violent. Some use violence as their foundation. Others do not and abjure the idea of violent attacks on people. Have you heard of Quakers?

It's also quite possible to find people who claim to be Christian but are vicious swine. But again, it isn't built into the foundations of the superstition and ideology.

Apostates in Christianity are not burned at the stake or stoned. Sure, they were, Spanish Inquisition, heresy etc. But it's not part of the fundamental ideology.

Hopefully the Islamic world is just going through the equivalent time of Christian burnings at the stake and they'll see the light some time.

Do you seriously think a cartoon about Buddhist icons would cause murderous attacks and riots? Moslems do not apparently see the absurdity that accusing Moslems of murderous violence gets them to confirm exactly the point by going murderous.

When you talk about people being violent, you should also discuss who initiates the violence. I'm sure Buddhists would be inclined to be violent in self-defence if attacked. That is very different from attacking somebody to force them to obey your will and to take their property.
