$32.500 Dec. 1991

$95.000 Ago. 2007

vitruvius.com.br

See the two buildings on the left of the photo? There are the flats I'm talking about. Prices above.

The government constructed a Court house and prices went up. (After the base photo was taken)

Now this development -super imposed in a 10 year old photograph which is the juridic center of Curitiba. It will be ready in early 2010. From now on prices will go up even more. I think a good 50 to 70% in 3 years.

In Curitiba: Real Estate Prices are correlated with the commerce type around. Better commerce, increase prices of real estate, higher income people comes, that prompts commerce to improve and so it goes.

I find this a better way to invest in Real estate rather than just buy because the economic indicators are showing a trend up.

The $32.5K was correlated with a per capita income of South Korea (We are richer than the rest of Brazil). Now our income is going up fast too (too much agriculture in the countryside commoditties up.)

Plus good quality of live attract wealthier people (from S. Paulo companies come to put their HQ in Curitiba) that wants to live in a better city, although at 3rd world prices, which prompts real estate prices up...

No speculation just solid price increase.

You've been through the HK real estate roller coaster before.

The condos all selling out in just one day - Miami 2003 ?

A giant new casino ? Las Vegas 2004

Same movie, just different subtitles. I assume you will keep that building near the gold exchange and sell other stuff.

China market cap larger than Tokyo is reasonable long term.
Is is reasonable this year instead of 2010.....

Where are you going to hide except cash and gold ?

I just bought some SRS double short Dow Jones Real Estate. It end the day up from where I had bought it.
