Doug - re: "The scaling does not depend on the driver, assuming it was the same."(my emphasis)

True, that's why I asked.

Doug,

I'm not sure why you believe the 3dMark06 score of 30K to be "impossible"...

If I do some quick extrapolations from what we know,

2.5Ghz gives 23,768...

Add 10% for Video card overclock... gives 23,768 + 2377=26,145

Then, on AMDZONE

amdzone.com

the 3dMark06 scores for the 2.1Ghz X2 4000 and the 2.5Ghz 4800 (~20% increase) are 7806 and 8823 respectively...for a difference of ~12.5%

adding 12.5% to 26,145 = 29,413...

this is within 2% of 30K simply by doing some quick math...

To me, it is certainly within the realm of possibility considering that the Barcelona cores may scale differently in 3dMark06 than K8...

Can you explain why you believe it impossible giving similar benchmark comparisons???
