I think in most states if not all, the game animal is the property of the state regardless of whose land it is on, until legally killed by a licensed hunter. Then it becomes the property of the person. You can bet the Fish and Game people check out all the cold storage lockers and if there is no tag in there with your meat, too bad for you.
