I cannot answer for Jim, but personally I do not take the macro considerations into my buying decisions. I don't have a clue - and I believe almost no one else does - no offence intended - whether consumers are "tapped out" or whatever. I've seen these macro comments for years and IMHO almost none of them made money to any of the commentators.

Yes, we may have a recession, but we may not. So if a retailer is cheap, I buy it without consideration that it might get cheaper if some macro event occurs. :)
