The thing the PETA folks always lose sight of, nature will win in the end. If predation, and hunting is part of that, doesn't balance the herd with it's area, nature will. Were I an elk I think I would prefer to be shot then to starve or die of chronic wasting or whatever else nature cooked up for me to reduce the numbers. But to be honest PETA doesn't care about any of that. It's face time on tv and fund raising. That's all that truly matters.

I wonder if PETA is concerned about the horrors of elk being killed by four footed predators. And why do they draw a distinction between four and two?
