my neighbor has several dogs and cats and he gets yard, bushes and outside of house sprayed about once a month is summer. i expect most of it is to keep out tics. he also has the inside sprayed every month of the year. we have cedar siding and it does get buggy or can, and woodpeckers love it.

i do not have a dog now so do not worry about the lawn, i do spray with home defense every six weeks,in the spring, summer , early fall, and never have a bug problem. I now have a Bayer product says it's good for nine months,, the home defense one i believe said ninety days.

i also put down a grandular bug killer around the foundation in early spring.

I have heard of wasps building nests in the eaves but not on the roof?
