Perhaps Intel has serious scaling intent built into CSI that warrants such attention to detail.

A corner case? That's not what speeds up. It's a lot of effort to cut
latency from almost *all* access. The corner case is where cutting
the latency like this is incorrect. Getting the corner case correct
with the elaborate replay-like mechanism is what enables it to be done
without sacrificing correctness.

Probably a very worthwhile impact for the scary complexity.
