Wait a sec. If israel did not exist, do you think the middle east muslims would hate jews more than they would hate christians? Look at the historical evidence. Prior to the existence of Israel the Jews were just another minority in the region, not hated by anyone more or less than any other minority. ME Muslins don't hate Christians or hate any other minority group any more than any majority group hates any foreign group. However, ME Muslims do hate Israelis for setting up a non-Muslim nation where lots of Muslims lived. You'd feel the same way if some foreign group established a non-American nation where you live. It's a natural reaction to being excluded.

They might despise them as contemptible buffoons, which was the traditional Arab attitude towards Jews. But did the Nazis successfully woo the Arab states to help them against the British in your alternate history? Because an awful lot of today's Arab attitude towards the Jews has simply been sucked up from the Nazis. If you'll notice, the Nazis didn't require a Jewish state in their midst to 'spark off' the hatred. But all this begs the question of why you and I are nosing round and round trying to find reasons and excuses for this hatred. We don't normally blame the victims of racism for the racism - except if it's Jews!
