Most older americans have not seen gay families in real time. Unfortunately we do see the news about bathrooms and bathhouses. I like to think of it in these terms. Imagine how a fellow diner at the restarant feels when hetero brittany bears all while diner is eating sushi. There is too much wild behaviour everywhere today. Folks get a wide berth at what is allowable if not acceptable. I guess we do the best we can. Having not met a gay family, i hope you are right in your description.
