Not really alleged anymore as he signed off on plea that admits guilt. He is convicted now saying he didnt do it so word alleged not needed. Thats part of the reason repubs can go after him as hard as they are. Other reason is that he is from a red state with his seat up this year. If he stays and runs he might lose. Another GOP nightmare in the offing.

I haven't heard any contention. I've heard unanimous expressions of disgust over his alleged behavior.

My point is the only reason that it is news is because it is on the news. What about US port security, a much discussed topic when it was on the news - nobody cares now???
