<< And who would pay for health insurance when health care is free and provided by the local government? Are you nuts?>>

Exactly, Elroy. Why should anyone, anywhere, pay for any good or service when it is "free and provided by the local government"?
Perhaps you feel the government might also pay for your car insurance? Your homeowners insurance? Your life insurance? Why stop with insurance? Personally, I think it would be great if the government bought me a new car.....but I'm not greedy, say only every 4 or 5 years.

I think a tax rate of say, 97 percent, might do the trick. I could probably manage to live on 3% of my income if all the goods and services I consume were paid for by the government. Tips, don't you know.
