They have caught him with IP addresses before. He thinks he's safe because he doesn't post on Ihub anymore ;-).

There are other tracking methods. If you use multiple machines
at a common location, more than likely there is a common
gateway IP that could be checked and an assumption could be
made (falsely I might add, depending on the organization).

Masking your ID on the internet is possible. Remembering
which ID to use at what location is something that a lot of
'spooofers' sometimes forget to do and that will trip them up.

Certainly you could use an anonimizing service and even change
your MAC address on your router but it's usually a
combination of things that are used to determine the
'spoofers'.
