(Pakistan and Saudi Arabia CREATED the Taliban for God's sake... and supported them all these years as an instrument of Pakistan's national policy --- to keep a compliant SUNNI 'buffer state' between Pakistan and their Shiite rivals in Iran... so they can be free to turn their attention to their fight with INDIA. It really ain't hard to understand. Classic politico-military maneuvering.....)
