No - its not wired shut. They just extracted part of my jawbone that was infected from that episode back in may/june and told me not to chew on it because the strength had now been compromised. I'm actually on a fairly high calorie/high protein shake mix because they don't want to see further weight loss. Goal right now is to not have this be an episode that causes me to go below 190 which is already 50 pounds less than the last time you and I golfed. A friend turned me on to Nutrisystem last december because I needed to lose some weight and I wasn't eating at all. It was during the whole divorce thing so I wasn't looking very good - no color - dark circles under my eyes - I just looked almost malnourished even though I was carrying extra weight. Starting that diet was the best thing I ever did! It cranked up my protein intake, lowered fat and carbs (not like the atkins diet) and at least gave me the correct nutritional basis for a diet. Since then my skin color is back, no more dark circles, heartburn and my blood/ekg levels were so good my doc said they were numbers of a 25 year old. The only thing that stuck out was a high white blood cell count. Had I not gotten that reading we'd have never figured out there was a low grade infection in my jaw that the hospital/oral surgeon NEVER checked after I spent 5 days laying in a hospital bed! It makes me mad because this never should have happened. Now they're going to have to do a bone graft when they're sure all the infected bone was actually removed. This WAS NOT good medicine!
