I didn't reply to the war about Iraq part.

As for peak oil, even if peak oil is imminent (which is questionable) "the end of oil" isn't. I didn't expressly say that, but I figured you understand it, and with that assumption my post is a perfect reply to all of the post except the Iraq part.

As for Iraq, its not simply or directly about oil. Claiming its unrelated to oil would be unreasonable, even silly, but it can't simply be all lumped in to an investment in oil. Also the money spent in Iraq, while large by most standards, is not large compared to the total stock of investment in the drilling, transportation, refining, distribution, and use of oil and oil based products. It isn't enough to really shift the equation.
