No need to hide behind anything. The assumption that differences in life expectancy are primarily due to difference in the form of health care insurance that is common in a country has just about no support to start with.

As for your traffic fatality link its per billion kilometers driven. American drivers drive more miles. Also there are differences in non-automobile related accidents. Difference in obesity rates. Differences in illegal immigration levels. And a billion different differences that neither of us has mentioned.

There are so many other factors to consider besides health care insurance that it isn't ideal to start with the health care insurance system as the base, and try to adjust for other factors. The health insurance differences are just one small factor out of many major ones and countless minor ones. The argument I'm responding to assumes that its all about health care insurance differences but it isn't.
