The party in power usually has more scandels...they have more ability to direct events and more people are throwing money at them. Back in the 1980s and 1990s it was the dems on congress. After about 1998 the tide turned toward the repubs...their complete consolidation of power in 2000 was just too much for some of them to handle.

The dems in congress will soon start having a few folks in power start to be shown as making "bad decisions".

Trafficante (hair piece), Rostenkowski....and there were numerous Dem members involved in the house check scandal, Jefferson, Murtha (Abscam), Wilbur Mills, Kennedy, Barney Frank, Gerry Studds.....

Plenty of crooked dems too...the numbers relate mainly, IMO to being the party in power....corruption is not confined to one side of the aisle....

Right, and let's not forget teddy kennedy who left the scene of a traffic homicide, I'm sure you remember Mary Jo Kopeckni... if you or I did that, we would have done some hard time... he gets re-elected, and is now fighting not to have alternate energy windmills out in the ocean miles from one of his mansions, what a two bit phoney...
