A few years ago, on Thanksgiving Eve 1996 in Lake City (Seattle), the so-called Hollywood Bandit robbed the Sea-First bank and fled to my neighborhood, literally (just a couple blocks away). He was cornered though and shot himself the next day.

I was amazed to learn that he made off with $1.1 million in cash from that heist.
