Most of these people are hard workers that just caught a bad break.

We don't know that. We don't know what life choices may have put them in the position they are in. An asteroid falling on you is a "bad break." Smoking, living above your means, failing to plan, hanging with the wrong crowd, etc. are not bad breaks.

To be charging uninsured people 2X-5X-10X the "insurance rate" for medical treatment is unconsciousable. I would think that you would be outraged.

What makes you think that I am not outraged by the disparity? I think it's horrid.

The question remains what to do about it. Getting sidetracked by the odd claim that the poor subsidize the insured would not seem to be helpful.
