But the Arab states love the conflict. It's waaaay too useful to give up. If they couldn't direct their masses to hate the Jews, they might have to explain why the economy doesn't work and there are no jobs.

Truer words were never spoken. Leaders in the ME are only to happy to have scrutiny of their shortcomings diverted to hatred towards some outside force. As soon as that hatred is dissipated internal strife will be amplified.

Nadine it's because the Jews have a global conspiracy to take all the money. That's why the Moslem economic world is bleak [those with lots of oil are doing okay, sort of]. <But the Arab states love the conflict. It's waaaay too useful to give up. The USA working bloke is doing badly because China took "their" jobs and won't obey the USA politicians over their currency.

There are lots of excuses for most things.

In Ireland, it helped that Irish American firemen and others got killed in the Twin Towers - so terrorism got bad press, Gerry Adams was declared persona non grata [and hopefully will die soon, preferably in a revenge attack by a disaffected IRA member]. Sending money for machine guns and bombs in Ireland didn't seem such a great idea any more to Americans. It was even made illegal.

Probably the young Irish also decided that the silly old fools running the carnage were past it and not worth obeying any more. Blowing up children in Omagh and families in the Tower of London doesn't get a lot of support from humans with any sense of humanity.

<<It happened in Ireland because England and Ireland got tired of The Troubles and wanted them to stop.>>

England and Ireland never WANTED the troubles to begin with Nadine. A set of circumstances arose where conflict exploded and it took almost 40 years to come to a peace agreement. By far the majority of people on both sides hated what was happening. Believe me, I lived through it.

Its very easy to sit behind your pc in a nicely air conditioned charming Vermont home and decree what whole groups of people thousands of miles away think and don't think. You know "jack" about what the average Joe/Jill Palestinian has to live through or how he/she rationalizes his/her circumstances. Come to think of it you also know "jack" about the average Israeli's routine seeing as you've never even been there! All you see on tv and read about are the fringe elements that unfortunately are running the show in the WB and Gaza.

Go visit your beloved Israel for once Nadine and see the conditions on the ground.....maybe then you'll earn a little credibility.
