i expect they can if cost not taken into the project. this mine is like x times the depth of the one in pa. where they rescued several miners. i remember back then the hole they dug to get them out took three days and a couple days to get equipment to the mine. not much demand to build these drills.

My thinking exactly. Why couldnt they have drilled a bigger hole and put a casement around it? I know, hard to get the rig up there to drill. Secondly, if they could MINE in that depth for years how come ALL OF THE SUDDEN its too dangerous to rescue? I know, the shocks and all killed 3 rescuers, but what are they doing wrong that causes this to happen NOW and not THEN. If the truth ever comes out I bet it all boils down to MONEY. jdn
