Tawdry, yes...but in his statements Craig still admits doing nothing wrong. And he claims in the interview of his arrest that the cop came on to him. Look, he is a scumbag, but lots of politicians are scummy on both sides of the aisle. I am just a little surprised how fast his "friends" dumped him, without a single care. If he was so conflicted, does anybody think the republicans didn't know about it before the bathroom escapade? The rumors have been around since 1982. Apparently the rumors didn't bother them until his misdemeanor plea. Or is the slam dunk dropping of their former friend just a validation of what they already knew....and did nothing about within their ranks. (like Foley?). The dems seem able to acknowledge odd lifestyles if it doesn't bother the voters. The republicans can't, I guess. Still...I would like to see one friend stand up for the guy for all his service..maybe it'll happen on his resignation date.
