As a Republican, I am ashamed of my party and how they treated Craig. Sadly, its THE MEDIA that causes this. Politicians FIRST call is get reelected, the media is capable of scaring them so badly they would turn on their own Mother if they had too. We all know the media ONLY attacks Republicans so Dems can get away with Murder, thievery, sex acts etc etc. Republicans cant. I guess you can say the media keeps at least ONE PARTY PURE. jdn

The Republicans are on the ropes on a lot of issues.

Interestingly its not even a slam dunk that the country would run to them if there was another terrorist attack. My view is that Bush and Co. have completely bungled the "War on Terror". Getting Osama and hanging him from the highest tree should have been job one - instead we have this quagmire in Iraq where they just keep throwing it at the wall and seeing what will stick.

So the Republicans want to up their bona-fides on "values". Its now completely clear they don't like homosexuals and that plays well to the ignorant and they count on their "useful idiots". Thing is they threw one of their own (of 28 years service no less) under the bus to do it.

Craig acted guilty and plead guilty. Apparently he peered into the cops stall for something like 2 minutes which has a high "creepy" factor. Still if someone tapped their foot, and peered into my stall at an airport I wouldn't give it much thought two minutes later. You need to know the signals - so I'm not sure that what he did amounts to much harm really - except that it outs him as a player on both teams.

I don't think the Repub's really mind homosexuality so much as long as its closeted - Craig's crime was letting his sexuality become well known.

I suppose you might say Repub's hate open sexuality more than they value loyalty.
