So here we go again. It appears that many influential people in this country have learned nothing from the last five years. And those who cannot learn from history are, indeed, doomed to repeat it.

Sad, but on target. Pollock mentioned earlier was a vociferous supporter of the war, on every news magazine before the invasion and later disappearing from view having been completely wrong about iraq...now back in the news, I saw him on CNN a few days ago eager to reclaim his reputation, now talking about surge "success", as if, after centuries of strife, on could really measure success in mere months or years for that matter.
