I've had two emergency room treatments here in the US, the first was comical (sounded like yours) I had to keep suggesting things to the staff. I'd fainted and hit my head they stuck me an MRI or whatever it was but I had to keep pointing out that maybe my wound needed some treatment. Eventually they put some stitches in it. They hadn't even looked at it up to that point. This was in a small town in Ohio. Recently here in upstate NY I got very good treatment though they spent a long time asking questions and putting stuff in computers before treating me (my toe needed stitches this time). So it probably depends which hospital you go to, who's on duty etc. Generally with the exception of the Ohio incident I have been very impressed with healthcare in this country and gotten good treatment.

OT:

If you have some Chinese friends, with their help, you can take a look at this Chinese site (a traditional Chinese medicine hospital specialized in treating kidney disease in Shi Jia Zhuang, He Bei Province) . They have cured thousands of patients with kidney disease, including kidney stone, or even renal failure.

Here is a comparative case from a patient who has been treated in the US, and then in China

You can also do some online inquiry, in Chinese of course.

No, I am NOT associated with them in any way, and this is not a medical advise, just provide some information. As far as I know, western medicine can never cure kidney disease.
