Where did you hear it? I just looked and it doesn't show up in the dictionaries online, BUT it is used all over the place if you google it. It seems to have wormed its way in without the dictionaries' approval. The AHD did have 'pedestaled'.

I even found depedestalized. Which I can see if you use it to describe the knocking over of Saddam's statue, a very literal usage.
