a conscious effort to tar the one with the other. When in doubt (or anger), demonize, don't analyze. It's a common POV nowadays.

As is usual for my cynical self, I see the rhetorical conjoining of homosexual desires with pedophilia to be a conscious effort to tar the one with the other. All you have to do is watch a few old Lee Atwarer commercials and read a little Frank Lutz (Atwater's successor) to get there. Doesn't take cynicism, just a few inferences.
