Funny you should mention the Alaska Marine Highway system. A very good friend's daughter works on one of the boats every summer during break from College. She usually stops here for an overnighter and good visit on her way to and from. I don't think I'll ever get hubby to go back to Alaska. He spent four summers away from home working the salmon processors, and has absolutely no desire to return. And thanks for the book recommendation...........I am going to reserve it at the library in the morning. It is the kind of book that I just love to read.
